Alberta's Transportation Ministry introduced updated moped regulations that came into effect on July 1, 2009. These changes to moped regulations now harmonize with Transport Canada regulations and will allow more 14-year-old scooter drivers on Alberta streets.
But, these new changes don't just apply to young drivers; they apply to anyone who wants to ride a
50 cc scooter. This is especially good news to city dwellers who want an easy, inexpensive way to
drive on Alberta's residential streets.
